Camp Registration Website
About Camp Registration Website
This project features a camp registration website for a community based Girl Scout twilight camp. The website allows parents to register their campers online, displays information about the camp, and helps parents and girls, alike, work through the massive amount of information and details about the camp.
Why Build It?
I grew up in this community as a Girl Scout, and I wanted to provide a dependable tool to help the camp organizers (one of which was my mother). I wanted to bring the organizers into the digital world with their event planning and management. This was partially possible, and providing graphics and using headline hierarchy helped communicate important details to parents, guardians, and campers.

Originally, camp information for all registered campers and their parents/guardians was sent in a long, text only email. Camp organizers found that parents weren't reading the email in its entirety, and no wonder! Two items were created to help the comprehension of important details:
- A Camp Information page that made use of numbered headings, bold phrases for emphasis, and a sticky table of contents.
- A graphic guidebook, which could be downloaded or access on the website or as a Google Doc. Specifics from the Camp Information page were curated and then explained graphically. Whether printed or viewed online, splitting the information into pages allowed readers to take in a portioned amount of details at a time, rather than being dissuaded by the massive amount of information on the Camp Information page. Additionally, a girl camper checklist was created, to inspire campers to make sure they had everything they needed for each day of camp.
